Technocratic Intelligence

Posted August 23, 2022, under The ExoFuture Alert

The term “technocracy” became popular in the 1930s when politicians were often blamed for the Great Depression, and a scientifically engineered society was thought to be a better solution than government.

A technocracy is a society controlled or ruled by technical experts, including the computer scientists and engineers of the modern world.

Certainly technology can be used to help create better lives for all.

But in any movement towards a technocracy, who will be in charge of it, and what are their motivations?

And will the technology be under the control of the individual user, or will the technology be used to make him subservient?

The way artificial intelligence is used may be the determining factor.

The first President of the United States has been quoted as saying: “Government . . . is a dangerous servant, and a fearful master; never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.”

This is true of technology as it moves towards a technocracy.

A mindset of domination within the scientific-technological elite could become a menace to society if the unrestrained influence of a few were to grow too large.

Extreme nightmare examples of this have been envisioned in movies such as “The Terminator” and “The Matrix” where sentient machines develop the ability to think for themselves and decide to overcome humans.

US President Dwight Eisenhower during the 1950s warned of the danger of a scientific-technological elite:

“In holding scientific discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.”

This is where ExoTech comes in.

ExoTech will reverse the trend towards people becoming servants of technology and put them back into rightful positions as masters of the machines.

Rather than making people adjust to technology, this radically new computing technology will, with unprecedented flexibility, adjust to the needs and desires of the user.

In making decisions, humans must have the final say.

We do not need or want a technocracy that controls artificial intelligence.

YOU can help reverse the trend towards technocratic intelligence.
