Logical Fallacies

The following logical fallacies are major barriers to piercing the webs of lies that permeate our current world:
Appeal to Authority
A statement is true simply because an authority made it or agrees with it.
“Authority, when first detecting chaos at its heels, will entertain the vilest schemes to save its orderly facade.”

Appeal to Tradition
A statement is true because it has been generally accepted without question for a long period of time.
“Drinking boiling hot water (and never cold water) is always healthy because Chinese people have done it for thousands of years.”

Appeal to Popularity
The popularity of a statement is evidence for its truthfulness.
“Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.”

And all three could be combined in this way:
A statement is true simply because it has been generally accepted without question for a long period of time based on its popularity with authorities.
When one has trusted friends who also accept these “facts,” then one can become MORE illogical.
And when these trusted friends are also “authorities,” the effect can multiply, especially when the income and status of these “authorities” are tied to those beliefs.

In addition to ignorance, “authorities” can be knowingly corrupt, which adds a whole additional layer of lies.
And many “authorities” have a vicious thirst for destruction, which makes it even much worse.
Computing is made complex, so most people have difficulty confronting it and feel compelled to depend on those same “authorities.”
These logical fallacies are also a major barrier for people to grasp the unlimited potential of ExoTech.
But the truth is basically SIMPLE.
ExoTech has removed hundreds of complexities from computing.
It is a new way of computing that almost anyone can easily learn.
And the simplicity of its basic structure makes it far more flexible and far more powerful.
