Computing: Good or Evil?

Posted June 22, 2023, under The ExoFuture Alert

In a world that sometimes seems to worship suffering and death more than it values truth, happiness, and prosperity, it is not surprising that computerized devices and technology appear to threaten Individuality, privacy and free speech.

According to Harvard Professor, Mathias Risse, individuality is “increasingly under siege in an era of big data and machine learning.”

Tech giants like Google, Facebook, and Amazon have been using technologies for years in questionable ways, and the growing use of AI seems to have opened the doors to further abuse.

According to another Harvard Professor, Barbara Grosz, the surest way to get the industry to act more responsibly is to prepare the next generation of tech leaders and workers to think more ethically about the work they’ll be doing.

The result of such concerns has been called “Embedded Ethics,” which has the aim of providing an embedded ethics approach to help develop AI technologies that are ethically and socially responsible technologies.

Embedded Ethics creates modules spread throughout some major universities’ computer science courses, embedding ethics across the curriculum, rather than being confined to a single course about ethics in computing.

Thousands of students have enrolled in Embedded Ethics courses since they began.

However, despite efforts to integrate ethics into the current world of computing, the results are limited by the fundamental flaws of existing computer technology, the rampant misuse of technology as a whole, the ethics level of society, and the compromised intentions of many of those in control.

What is needed is a world that engages in sane and ethical computing which is free from corrupting influences.

That is what is created through the implementation of ExoTechnology.

ExoTechnology has overcome the many frustrating flaws of past systems.

The system adjusts to the user rather than the other way around.

It is free from those who might use technology to covertly control and subjugate the population.

It will allow the users to bypass those who suppress truly workable technologies and knowledge that is useful to mankind.

It is far easier to learn and use.

And it will carry on verbal conversations with an understanding and accuracy that today’s chatbots will never be able to approach.

You can help us make supercomputing and super-electronic communications available to the average person and even the underprivileged.
