Ruth Drye
Ruth has had a diverse career that includes being a professional musician, running a successful restaurant and providing community support. After graduating from the University of Louisville School of Music, she started her professional life as a chamber musician performing Early Music on original instruments. At the same time, she co-founded a food business, starting with a single lunch truck on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. She and her partner grew that into two restaurants, a stand in the famous Reading Terminal Market, two small sandwich shops, and a 30,000 sq ft artisanal wholesale bakery. She founded and built from the ground up a child care center in West Philadelphia that served infants through kindergarten. At the same time she administered the local Healthy Start program in one of the most economically depressed neighborhoods in Philadelphia. After leaving that business, she worked at a non-profit organization assisting in outreach programs and events. In 2017 she moved to Florida to be with her son and his growing family – she is a grandma and enjoying every second!
