The Trouble with Artificial Intelligence
Current artificial intelligence has had a great impact upon the world.
But it has also demonstrated some unfortunate flaws.
For example, there have been instances of the following:
- Making up a nonexistent policy
- Talking to users in computer code instead of English
- Making legally binding offers without permission
- Swearing at customers
- Referencing fake legal cases
- Giving harmful health advice
- Threatening users
- Performing insider trading
- Advising users to break the law
Further, there are some specific dangers associated with current AI:
Obviously it has the potential to replace humans in many capacities, resulting in lost jobs, lost income, etc.
Some transhumanists want people to become “superheroes” by MERGING with computers, technology and artificial intelligence.
This raises several questions including the following:
- Will AI really be able to do all this?
- If so, who will prevent it from becoming our master, rather than our servant?
- Who will make sure it is used ethically?
- Will it produce a technocracy, a world similar to The Matrix movie?
But current artificial intelligence, no matter how powerful, can only compute in very fixed, rigid, mechanical ways, limited by lack of fully logical methods of data collection and reaching conclusions.
In contrast, live beings can compute rapidly, freely and correctly in a much more fluid way.
THIS is the dream of TRUE artificial intelligence.
Only ExoTech has eliminated the 260 irrationalities of that structure.
And ExoTech will be out of the control of those who would use it to dominate humanity.
